April Love Prompt: From Where I Stand

This year I’m celebrating National Poetry Month by combining  NaPoWriMo’s daily poetry challenge with Susannah Conway’s April Love daily photo prompts on Instagram. Each day of April, you will observe the same photo in my Instagram feed on the righthand sidebar that you see in my blog post along with an instapoem. We shall find out at the end of the month whether this was a brilliant career move, sheer laziness or a fool’s errand.

Until then, care to join me in these creative waters where even fools fear to tread? The water’s fine.

  1. And yet we’re always searching beyond, often not paying enough attention to what’s going on right where we stand. I love how the mountains look like a torn-paper collage and the gentle frame of the pines that you captured so well.

    1. Another favorite photo and vista. Funny, I was thinking the same thing about the mountains looking like a cut out against the horizon. I struggle every day to enjoy the present, instead of worrying about what the future holds.

  2. Whoa. Another surprise! What an incredible openness! “Beyond” is such a compelling word, and so much a part of humanness. You have gently touched on its treachery. I love the title!
