April Love Prompt: Clouds
This year I’m celebrating National Poetry Month by combining NaPoWriMo’s daily poetry challenge with Susannah Conway’s April Love daily photo prompts on Instagram. Each day of April, you will observe the same photo in my Instagram feed on the righthand sidebar that you see in my blog post along with an instapoem. We shall find out at the end of the month whether this was a brilliant career move, sheer laziness or a fool’s errand.
Until then, care to join me in these creative waters where even fools fear to tread? The water’s fine.
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
Ah, yes. A favorite quote. Thank you Mihran.
My grandmother always told me I could find my castle in the clouds. I loved that sentiment and you’ve expressed it beautifully!
What a lovely memory and sentiment from your grandmother. Thanks for sharing that with us, Bonny!
I love the connection between hope and looking to the clouds. This poem may well be one of my favorites, especially with that bright openness in the photo. It isn’t possible to keep to the ground with that kind of image.
The act of looking up always connects me with the concept of hope. Physically raising the eyes seems to help.
