Day 23: Water

I’m very fortunate that I can see the duckpond in front of my building every day, as well as the lovely lake and creek in a nearby park. Just wait until the foliage turns this fall!

Yes, folks, it’s that time of year again. I’m looking forward to my third go at participating in Susannah Conway’s August Break by posting prompts here on the blog and on my Instagram account. There are no rules, really. Simply take a photo every day for the month of August, based on the prompts or not. I take a photo a day all year long, but you can’t lose no matter how many days you keep this up. And the more, the merrier!

The sharp colors and reflections in this photo make it doubly beautiful. The water looks so inviting!

  2. Good picture. Love the contrasting shades of blue in the sky and water.

And yes, it is great to have an uplifting view outside your door. We live on a ridge above the harbor here in South Portland, Maine. Walk up to the street and we can look straight down at a petroleum terminal and tank farm. And our view is not just visual. It comes with a petrol bouquet!

Actually I enjoy seeing the tankers, the rustier the better. And for the next two months we’ll have a parade of cruise ships docking across the river in Portland.

Then we’ll have winter. Ice skating on your duck pond?

    1. I think I can actually smell the petrol bouquet, Mike. It’s a dominant feature downtown and certainly at the speedway here. No matter where and how polluted, I find that water adds to the scenery, and the reflected dimension.
